"I didn't ask you," he scolded when Fai once again ignored his orders to shut up. He would have said more, but the blond boy had beaten him into doing so and with a much kinder tone. Maybe Fai would listen if someone else berated him a little.

And it seemed the other boy had finally found the right words to deserve another look from Kurogane and one that was much more than a simply passing glance. His full glare turned back to the boy now, red eyes burning with a dangerous kind of anger. Just who the hell was he calling someone's boyfriend, huh?! That was as bad as being called "Father" with Fai being the stupid "Mother"!! If this boy had any kind of intelligence he'd stop acting like Mokona right now, otherwise the next time he'd be treated as if he were that damn manjuu.

Kurogane growled low, but refrained from saying anything this time. Some brat making jabs at him was not important. Damn irritating, but not important.

He drew his attention to the other words instead, finding there to be the important information. Fai had been on the second floor and had apparently fallen from there. No, not fallen, likely thrown or somehow forced over the side by something on the second floor. That made more sense by the story. What had taken Fai up to the second floor was Kurogane's main concern though. He had assumed Fai had come from the Sun Room by how the boy had been leaving with him, but if the magician had fallen in from the floor above, it meant that something else had been of more importance to him than both keeping away from Kurogane or attempting to find the kids.

Looking again to Fai, his glare persisted as his thoughts ran over the possibilities for just what the something could have been.
