Alec nodded. The plan seemed to be sound. And anyway, if they were the first ones out, they'd be the most likely to be beaten to a bloody pulp by the patient. His sense of self-preservation balked, but maybe if he got hurt, the pain would bring him back to firing on all cylinders.

Not that he was going to try and get hurt. That would be dumb.
