Gumshoe zoned out for a minute as memories of the previous night arose. Mr. Edgeworth was absolutely right! He- he couldn't begin to imagine how on earth they'd have escaped. The notion of carrying the man away had hardly been a great option at the time – the detective had had trouble staying on his own feet. And Pearl- or- or the thing that looked like Pearl would've probably latched on to them again if he'd tried slinging the unconscious man over his shoulder. And he'd only one shoulder to throw him over.

He would give anything to not have to go through a situation as dangerous again.
