The alarms had been a bit of a shock. Jack followed Obi-Wan across the room, stepping around and ducking under flying chairs and patients who were either fighting or fleeing, but he'd thought that would be that. Then the alarms had turned on and people began dropping like flies as nurses stormed the cafeteria. While the chaos was good for awhile, Jack didn't like how everyone was being strapped down and carted off. This wasn't fun at all.
He was separated from Obi-Wan and directed back to his room, his nurse praising him for staying out of the riot. He was far more interested in seeing where everyone else went, however, and didn't pay much attention to her. She ushered him into his room and closed the door, saying his roommate would be joining him soon enough.
Now that got him. Jack perked up and turned to ask the nurse a question, but she was already gone. "A roommate?" he asked himself, flopping down on his bed and taking his journal out. Jack grinned, cackling to himself as he reread what he'd learned from Obi-Wan at breakfast. What wonderful ideas! Now all Jack had to do was wait. "Perhaps someone who can add to my notes, hm? That would be lovely indeed!"
