Luffy remembered those trowel things. How could he forget? Sai had used them in their fight against the death slugs on the night of their bathroom adventure. It'd been pretty cool, actually!

"Yeah, we still need to find metal," Luffy told him. "I promised him ages ago." But the janitor closet, huh? Didn't seem like a bad place to look, although it sounded like it was sadly lacking in the demon department. "Where can I find it?"

As for the giant spider, well, Luffy didn't think it could really be helped. "At least it didn't kick your ass." He stuffed a bite of food into his mouth, his eyes practically shining. "Maaaan, I wish I could have seen it!" Maybe if he went to the janitor's closet soon, there'd be another one!

"I dunno if we're going back or not," the pirate admitted. "You're the first person I've talked to today. The closet sounds really fun, though!"
