Nightshift 29: East Wing, South Hall 1-A

[from here]

It was lucky for both him and Usopp that their rooms were just a block down. Not that he'd seen many monsters or otherwise around the patient blocks themselves, but the further apart they were the more likely there would be something that could stop them on the way. Here they had simply a short run between them. Granted, it would have been even better if they'd been in the same block or even the same hallway, but given the overall situation they could have been far worse off.

He took one more glance around, saw nothing and no one, and continued on his way.

For Anise, on the other hand, there was no situation too serious for a bright smile--one which only grew brighter in response to Tear's suggestion. "Really!? That would be great!" She gave a bit of a sheepish giggle. "I had a flashlight, but I lost it a few days ago. I had no idea it would be so hard to get by without one!" Of course, she had far more important things to worry about at the time. Staying alive, for one.

"I'm pretty sure Guy said his room was M63," she went on to say. After speaking to the Colonel that morning, she had since made a point of reading the bulletin much more thoroughly, committing important-looking details to memory. "That's in the next block over, right?"

It was two hallways out or so hallways in the wrong direction from what Tear could figure. But her companion's immediate safety was more urgent than her arrival at the clinic. She had all night to peak in there, after all. Things would be fine if she only took a small detour. Meanwhile, Tear gave Anise a small smile and nod, though the dim lighting probably prevented her from seeing such gestures. She had done so anyways.

"Yes." Luckily Tear had bothered to try and memorize the floor map earlier that day. Being guided blindly through the hallways the other night, she realized how similar all the hallways were and decided to put the map to memory as best she could. She returned to her old pace as she headed to the next hallway. Making sure that Anise was close behind.
