Max laughed and flashed him a bright grin over her shoulder. "Don't get grouchy, I'm just teasing you," she replied in amusement, her dark eyes glinting with laughter. She lifted a finger to her lips in a warning to be quiet.

"Careful, though. I've never seen a nightshift where there wasn't something lurking in the Sunroom."
