Sam grimaced slightly. The last remark hit too close to his own discomfort for his liking. He uttered a humourless chuff of laughter. "Yeah, I'd noticed that. Guess it'd be too much to hope that anything here'd be less than a double-edged sword. Still, with what this place turns into at night, it's good having someone you can trust watching your back."
