Ed looked up when Adel approached, returning his smile with a slightly wild one of his own. Last night had left him wanting to fight, renewing his determination to get out of this place. The anticipation of possibly seeing the Head Doctor was only making it worse.

"I guess I must have," he said, knowing what Adel meant without having to ask. What else could be meant by it?

"If he turns up, I know who I'm aiming for, and if he doesn't then this is as good a place as any to sleep in," he added cheekily.
