Ed felt like they were being mocked with the day's trip to the library, given it was where everyone was trying to go for the past few nights to get to the third floor.

He ignored his nurse's urgings to pick out some book he wasn't interested in to search for something he would want to read. Unfortunately, the library was devoid of anything he'd want, so he disappointedly claimed an empty chair to wait for the shift to end or for his brother to find him, whichever happened first.
