That was quite a lot for "something to ask", and Kratos had to take a moment to sort out where he wanted to start. It was probably best to address each of Gabriel's questions one at a time in the order that they'd been presented, just so he could keep things straight.

"I did," he said with a nod. "I presume the notes were from the rebels--their goal is to overthrow Landel." Their plans regarding the patients being held in the institute were less clear, but his note had mentioned finding a way home, a hint to their intentions. "The one I received spoke of a records archive somewhere on the third floor that would be necessary for those desiring to return to their respective homes, and detailed how one might reach that archive."

The expression on Kratos's face deepened into a light frown as he reached the question about the basement. "I wouldn't know what's in the basement. I've been there several times, but never made much progress regarding its secrets. Apparently, there's something down there worth investigating, though." Even if it left people physically unable to speak of it...
