Despite the gravity of the situation they were in, Lloyd's eyes widened with awe as he watched the rusted metal literally melt and reform itself into a shiny new sword. He took the blade gingerly, hefting it, judging its balance. It felt like good work. It looked like good work. It wasn't exactly the type of sword he was used to, completely straight where Lloyd's had a slight curve. Even so, a grin spread across his face.
"Man, that was awesome! Now I really wish I could do something like that!" He almost forgot for a moment that Ed had even spoken, and it took him a moment to backtrack to what it was he'd just asked. "No, I put batteries in. See for yourself."
Juggling his new sword and his flashlight, he fished his radio out of its tool belt and handed it over to Ed. If Ed opened it, he'd find batteries in, just as Lloyd had claimed - installed entirely the wrong way.
