At night... Castiel had only successfully made it there once, and that had been with Gabriel's help. His brother was gone from this place now, replaced with another Gabriel who was helpful enough, but wasn't his brother in the same way. His other attempt to make it to town at night had been when he and Dean had stolen that bus, which obviously hadn't ended well, as he'd only just reminded himself.

"It's... possible to get there. Difficult, but possible. I wouldn't suggest trying it unless you're properly prepared." Castiel broke another piece off of the granola bar and placed it into his mouth. It stuck to his teeth and he reached for the juice so that he could wash the food down.

"And you heard right. The last time, on the way back from town, the buses broke down about halfway back. Most patients made their way back to the institute, but there were large droves of monsters in the way." Castiel had made it back along with Soma and Lingormr, but it had been a struggle and he would rather not repeat the process if he could help it, seeing how he'd been injured in the process. That had seemed like a solitary event, caused by one over-eager patient who had tried to hijack one of the buses. Castiel could only imagine he had learned his lesson and that wouldn't be happening again.
