The idea made his lip curl in a snarl. "So by the time I got back, she'd gone home. So, I figured I'd just go to her house instead.
"I was there all night, and she never--" Kotetsu paused to sigh, his amber eyes suddenly affixed to his nerve-wracked hands. "Never came home. I had to go back to work, and that's kinda when it all started. I... found out that Samantha... She'd been murdered."
