"Ah--Uhh, ehh well, you know how it is when you're busy and you just forget! I was all caught up in talking with someone and..." Where exactly was he going with this? Kotetsu just kinda of petered off into an awkward silence as he stared down at the flower for a moment before simply giving Barnaby what he wanted. "But I guess I can try harder to remember..."
Twirling the stem between his fingers, he couldn't think of any more ways to stall for time. Barnaby and his logic had pinned the older man into a corner as he stared down into the inevitability of the situation: he had to eat this damn flower. Kotetsu couldn't help but groan at it, like a child who was forced to finish their vegetables. Slow as molasses, he brought it up to his face, opened his mouth, and plucked a petal off with his teeth. The texture was more brittle than paper, and for a moment he figured it couldn't hold much flavor to begin with. Once he sucked it into his mouth, however, Kotetsu's hypothesis was quickly debunked.
"Bleh!" In a matter of seconds, he spat it back out, or tried to at any rate. It clung to his tongue, so the older man had to peel it off and fling the nasty thing off his fingers. "Nuh uh!"
