Miketsukami and Gabe were here, Ryusei thought as he sat down, finishing his survey of the room. But Ryuugamine wasn't. That didn't mean anything; Ryusei's memory might be faulty right now but there were a number of reasons someone wouldn't show up. Sick, maybe.... Maybe.
He couldn't remember if he'd ever seen Miketsukami, or Gabe, or Ryuugamine before he'd talked to them. But if he couldn't remember that, then he couldn't have dreamed them up, put them in his little nighttime delusions, could he? Ryusei wasn't that kind of person. But he'd been confused all day yesterday, and all night, and maybe there was something about being restless and anxious that made him see things. If he couldn't depend on his memory, he needed something to ground him, make the prospect of a confused mind less terrifying—
"Uh— Hello!" he said, once he finally remembered that he'd taken a seat opposite someone. He smiled apologetically. "Sorry, I'm... a little distracted. Can I ask you something?"
