It was a such a relief for Guy when he paused at his usual spot against the wall in this hallway and realized that he no longer had to wait with dread for Claude to show himself. His friend was back to normal, as was Anise. He didn't have to spend his nights tense, waiting for the moment when one of them would hunch over and start to change.
There were plenty of other things he still had to be ready for out in the dark hallways, of course, but those he could handle. His friends being in danger had taken a toll on him, even if he'd kept a strong front most of the time.
He wondered what Claude might have to say about the new sheath that he'd made for himself. Guy knew that he'd told Claude about the idea way back when he'd first bought the leather from Doyleton, but that had been a long time ago and Claude had likely forgotten about the whole thing.
Either way, Guy hoped that Claude would show himself soon so that they could go find Anise. It would be good for him to see both of them looking healthy.
