Edgar pocketed the coin as he heard Tolten's approach, his mind having been elsewhere— on allies and his kingdom and a brother he was determined to see again one day. In order for that to happen, he had to survive. They had to survive. Tolten's news couldn't have come at a better time; with luck, perhaps they could find a way to cure Locke of his condition before anything unfortunate— more unfortunate than turning into a monster, anyway— happened.
