Anise was relieved too, to see the others arrive safely. Even though she had good reason to believe Claude was going to be safe for a while, she couldn't help but worry a little anyway. Who really knew what could happen with a weird illness like this?
It looked like they were as anxious to get moving as Anise was. She had some reservations about following such a vague clue, though. "I don't know... People on the bulletin said that the surgery works. That's still an option, right?" And there was nothing more relieving than knowing something worked.
"I mean... it's not that I'm eager to go get cut open or anything, though..." she added. In truth, Anise was feeling conflicted. It would be wonderful if the clues really did lead to some special cure that was low-risk and wouldn't leave awful scars... but could they really expect such a cure to even exist? If there was anything Anise learned from watching her parents fall for scam after scam was that if something sounded too good to be true, it usually was.
"I'm okay with checking it out," she clarified. "But if we don't find anything... we might not have a lot of choices left."
