Unsurprisingly, the second floor seemed to be empty. Nothing, prisoner or otherwise, was moving about from what Zero could see and hear, which was...neither good nor bad, actually. Being the only ones here meant any unwelcome 'friends' would definitely target them should they choose to attack, but at least the silence would make it more difficult for those 'friends' to sneak up on them...assuming the three kept their guard up.
And as long as they continued to plow forward, the group might (hopefully) reach their destination before the night ended on them - or at least, they could get some good distance if nothing else. If their travel tonight didn't involve any more interruptions from monsters...well, that was another plus. But Zero wasn't going to hold his breath for any miracles.
He would, however, be glad to start calling all the shots from hereon out (thank you Harpuia).
Though he initially hung back when the trio ascended the stairs (so he could keep his eyes on the other two while being between them and possible danger behind them), the once-Reploid didn't hesitate to take the lead once they came out of the stairwell. "This way," he said to his companions as he gestured to their right with one hand. His rough words probably came across like an order, though they were spoken in a hushed tone. From this point on, it would be safer to speak quietly or not speak at all, no matter what was being said.
As for moving ahead, though...he would wait for the other two first to make sure they were still okay. Should he drag out the first aid kit now? ...Maybe not. Maybe it was better to wait until they got to where they were going...
