Weeks of traveling in monster-infested hallways didn't teach Sechs nothing, nor had two years of surviving the hostile world of the Scrapyard before left the Replica with any sense of naivety of his surroundings. He barely took one step forward before his instincts alerted him of the large presence coming from behind. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up, electrified by the adrenaline sparking through his skin. He turned around...
...and cursed under his breath at the sight his flashlight revealed.
A huge spider was lowering itself from the ceiling, its sharpened limbs outstretched towards the Replica. For a fleeting moment Sechs imagined the spider as the towering figure of Recluse, no longer a human like all the other prisoners, but back to his original form with all the eight arms he described to Sechs weeks ago. This image set Sechs' heart pounding like an overworked engine inside his rib cage. Recluse had nearly killed him that one night over Sechs' actions as a brainwashed guard...!
But this wasn't a cruel and cunning human he was dealing with, this was just some hungry spider too big for the hallway it occupied, Sechs knew he could deal with this!
...Or could he? As Sechs tucked his flashlight halfway into his pocket and readied his axe, the frigid drug inside his spine clenched hard at his back muscles, forcing him to pause with a small gasp. "No, no! Not now!" Sechs mentally snarled at the darkness surrounding his mind. He wasn't letting the drug get in the way!
"C'mon! You want some of this?!" Sechs barked at the giant arachnid. Fighting to ignore the MU parasite in his body, Sechs took a hostile step forward and gave a warning swing of his axe. "I'll leave ya with just one leg to drag your sorry ass back to your hole!"
