Ah, Villiers really was fun to watch. The shock of seeing him standing in the room instead of someone else (the previous tenant, perhaps) was plain to see—and Izaya was glad that he'd had the opportunity to get his own surprise out of the way the night before, so that he could truly relish the sight of Snow's reaction.

"I guess the nurse didn't tell you..." he mused, still lingering by the door. He gave a casual shrug of his shoulders. "It seems we're roommates now—as of yesterday, actually. Perhaps I should have said something to you then, but you had been sleeping so soundly I thought it best not to wake you."

Honestly, he'd been glad Villiers had been out last night; it had given Izaya plenty of time to ponder the unexpected turn of events without interruption.
