The Once-ler winced as Soma pulled him up. It hurt a lot. "You failed to mention he's got a twin and can turn invisible," he muttered, gritting his teeth. The man could feel blood running down his leg; his mind flashed briefly back to the hallway outside. That explained where the blood smears had come from.
He flinched as the gun went off near him, then nearly fell again as Soma yanked him forward. Running really was their only option at this point. Cringing at the second gunshot, he began limping after Soma, sending shocks of pain up his leg with each step. At least it was still somewhat functional; the slash had landed off-target when he had turned around.
