After fighting at least half of the Organization, he knew how a person who experienced no emotions could easily pretend to have them if it got them somewhere.
In this case, Lingormr was trying to make them feel bad so that they left instead of fighting, but Sora had already decided that that wasn't an option. He didn't want to hurt the man more than necessary, and his hope was that Link wouldn't get hurt either.

Still, out of the three of them, that seemed like the best choice to him. He would fight back against Lingormr if he had to, but that was only if the man attacked him first.
