"Is it?" Loki demanded. "Is it? Too blinded by your own glory, brother." He spat the word like it was an insult.

Because of course Thor would never understand the point, never see the way Loki had only ever been a tool to their father, because it was too much to his advantage to remind blind to that fact.

Some far-off, rational corner of Loki's mind noted that this wasn't even really Thor, just probably some illusion. He found that he didn't care. Being able to rail at his so-called brother felt far too freeing.

He gripped the back of his chair, knuckles going white. "Oh, but of course you won't believe my words. I've never said a damn thing that could penetrate that thick skull of yours. And I'm accused of being the liar, when I've finally stopped drinking all of the lies in!"

It all came back to the one thing: "All I ever wanted was to be your equal!" he shouted.
