In all seriousness, it was actually kind of nice to have a warm body sitting next to him. Not in that way (he could already feel Wallace poking him in the ribs a million lightyears away), but just as a reminder that people still existed. They didn't just vanish randomly in a puff of smoke, much as it was starting to feel like they did.
He didn't say anything else for a while, though. The bus started moving. Scott stayed quiet, staring out the window at everything and nothing. He got flashes of Desert Bus in his mind as they drove. Only without the desert part. Other than that, though, he was kind of a blank.
Still, that was more than Scott had been thinking lately, and it was what finally got him talking after a while. "Man, Desert Bus sucked."
