Instead, as they trudged through the snow, Daemon trusted the direction and front to Renji, while he kept probing the distance behind them, making sure they weren't being followed.
So far, despite the discomfort of the cold and the small party of foes, this had been relatively simple for a rescue mission. That in itself made Daemon uneasy.
