"Wouldn't be surprised if it is," Renji said, shrugging as he trudged along. "But can't fucking do anything about it right now. Maybe there really is some woman in danger that we gotta rescue. If not, might be some nasty shit that's gonna try to eat our faces. Fuck, I'd rather go down swinging than keep running around in the goddamn rat maze at this point."

He grinned at the snow in front of him, a ferocious smile like it had personally offended him. "We're trapped either way. I figure at least this way we get some fucking fresh air. And if we're lucky, there's gonna be a good fight at the end of it."
