Nightshift 62: Recreational Field
[from here]
After last night, Kurogane was even more wary as he made his way onto the field to await the magician. He didn't expect that the same creature would be there, but something could be in it's place, and just as intent on keeping him inside. Because of that prospect, Kurogane kept himself in the doorway rather than expose himself completely to the outdoors. If need be, he could duck back in and go around to get Fai himself.
Standing in the doorway proved to be useful in another way when the intercom went off for him to hear. Not that it helped all that much. The voice was messing up again, and speaking those numbers. As much as he wished to ignore the rambling, Kurogane listened to ever last one and zero in case the voice switched back to Japanese. By the time the voice shut of though, only numbers had continued - another useless message.
Kurogane reached beneath his cloak and drew out the radio. He knew watching the device wouldn't guarantee a response, but it would give him something to wait on other than just Fai. If the message came before the magician, he'd already determined to go and get the man. There was only so long he'd wait.
