idolism: (a thing of dark imaginings)

He and Sasuke seemed to have next to no success at coordinating after sundown, so Aidou was rather hoping he could flag the boy down… or any other of his so-called “allies.” Unfortunately, he was running awfully short on those as of late. Zack seemed to have disappeared and although Sai had been back, his absence was glaringly obvious now.

And then there was Aigis. The girl-thing who was not quite foe and certainly not friend, but who wanted to be a friend? It was all so confusing.

Given that he was watching the door, he didn’t fail to notice Aigis when she entered the cafeteria. To be perfectly honest, he would have rather avoided seeing her entirely if only to spare his sense of normalcy further trauma. Their business had become entangled, that much was unavoidable, but she had proven to be just plain weird. The noble didn’t want to deal with so much weirdness. Wasn’t the Institute bad enough? Now he had to put up with the patients’ crazy abnormalities? Not only was she difficult to comprehend with holes in her logic a mile wide, but she also had… manga powers. There was really no other way to describe them.

At least her healing power meant she didn’t need to have her bite marks bandaged and put on display for the entire world, but still.

Once again, though, Aigis appeared to think her breakfast would be best spent bothering him. She proceeded to head toward his table and sit down without invitation, defying his silent command for her to go elsewhere. Aidou needed more time to ponder over her before he decided what to do--not more time fending her off during meal shifts. But he supposed holding a simple conversation was the least he could do…

“It was fine,” he said. “You… you’re feeling normal after everything?” She seemed to have no problems looking a blood-sucking predator in the eye now, which was a leap from how things had been a few days ago.
