"2016. I don't think history is exactly the same for everyone, though." Harvey hadn't heard of the initial trial system, and not a single one of the books in the store in town mentioned it. While it was fairly new, the political momentum behind it hadn't grown overnight. It might be splitting hairs -- but the real difference probably had to do with crime rates, rather than the judicial reforms that had been a reaction to them.

"I'm not sure whether that's for our benefit or theirs. If you've been here that long -- you were there the night patients were stranded, right? I don't know exactly what is out there, but I have a feeling it's important." And that that wasn't just wistful thinking -- her hunches were usually right; it had made her an excellent detective, and it was, if anything, even more of an asset in court.
