Whatever sleep Indra had influenced upon the Fable faded as Jack witnessed the attack on Ginji. "JESUS CHRIST!" He exclaimed, scrambling to his feet. No wonder Ginji had been insistant upon leaving!

Pain shot through his body as a reminder of his previous battle as he returned to a standing position. Jack might use that as an indication to run away, but this guy had been trying to help him and Jack generally didn't turn on allies. At least, not like this.

He may have lost his crossbow and flashlight to Recluse, but Jack still had a couple of sharpened pens in his coat pocket that he had been intending to use as the bolts (but was never given the chance). In an attmept to drive this...creature off Ginji, Jack fished one from his pocket and stabbed at it, trying to get it in the head. Without a flashlight, though, he couldn't be sure if he hit his intended mark or not, though he was pretty sure he had gotten SOME part of the monster. "Hang on!" he added to Ginji, as an afterthought.

It occurred to Jack that he had probably just reopened a few of the wounds he had managed to tend to and cursed inwardly. Why couldn't he heal the way he had gotten used to as of late? Taking damage again was REALLY making things difficult...
