Was Masaru serious?! Was he really going to try and take down that thing?! Luke would have been more than happy to aid him if things were a bit different, but at the moment, he just wanted to get out of there alive. They could find something and deal with the beast later, right?

"Masaru!" Luke could see that he wouldn't be able to pull Masaru away, so he rushed forward as well, intending to help Masaru take down the beast.

Well, that was the plan. But the beast fired off a bolt of lightning, blinding Luke. As he covered himself, he felt the crackling energy and cried out as it struck him, throwing the boy back against the building and knocking the wind out of him.

It took Luke several moments to regain himself, wincing at the burns that covered his arms.
