Byrne nodded his head at his partner's remark about Lydia. "Correct. She used to be the head nurse, but then she turned against Landel for whatever reason and is now assisting Marc and the other rebels. I think she also tried to help the patients over the radio once, as well."
At this point, talking was distracting the prosecutor so much that he'd slowed his pace significantly, walking very leisurely now. Ahh, at least they were still going somewhere, right? Badd's question about the rebels had him thinking hard enough to forget about walking at a fast pace, anyway. Indeed, what was the rebels' primary motivation for helping the patients escape? Were they former patients who'd managed to break out and band together? Or were they a rival group who wanted the patients for their own motives? Guess there was no real way of knowing right now, unfortunately. "I don't know why they're helping us, but I do know that Lydia and Prescott managed to escape after Aguilar and his men did. So I'm sure that won't be the last we see of them."
Now he might as well tell Badd the source of all this info, huh? Before he asked about it. "Oh and uh, if you're wondering where I heard all of this from, one of the patients who was there that night wrote down everything he saw and passed the note around. It got into the hands of someone I trust--her name's Renamon, by the way. She let me read the note and gave me some other information from her own experiences." Such as everything that had to do with other dimensions, but Byrne would get to that later.
