"But I just said I did want to know," Claire pointed out. He waited again, expecting the man to actually just tell him. When it eventually became apparent that this wasn't going to be the case, Claire heaved another dramatic sigh.

"Is it a secret, is that it?" he asked, mostly just throwing out ideas to fill the space. That was what Claire needed -- interesting things to fill up otherwise boring space. "I'm good at keeping secrets. Got a few myself, see? Hey, how about I tell you one of my stories for one of yours? That's more exciting, right?"

Perhaps he should have said that exchanging information for information in return was more 'fair,' but at heart, Claire was a braggart. A braggart with the attention span of a goldfish. But with all the dogged determination of a hound that refused to be led astray from an interesting trail. Even if this man seemed to be trying his best to pretend he didn't exist, Claire would definitely keep trying his best to remind him that he did until he got what he wanted.
