Indeed, Erika had wondered why Sync didn't bother just finishing up, but it was pretty easy to reason out: It was either not worth his time to kill her, or he still needed her. The latter seemed to be the case since Sync remained, commenting on her idle thoughts. She frowned, not sure how definitive her "proof" for her latest theory was. It wasn't that Erika was having second thoughts, but rather that she would have preferred to actually collect her proof before stating it so everyone could be sure that she was right.
"I'm saying it's a possibility. We mustn't rule out our rebel 'friends'," Erika shrugged, knowing that it was still too early to definitively place blame on someone for this mess. Well, not that she wanted to place any "blame", since it gave Erika something fun to do. Not to mention, it was somewhat... reassuring to know that her detective's authority was still firmly in place, if somewhat useless due to the nature of this weird gameboard. It meant she still had a place, which was more then enough for her.
She looked off to the distance, and then turned back to Sync. She could investigate this. Or...
"I know don't need to say it, but this is the best time for us to go back downstairs." The thought of "leaving" had never even crossed Erika's mind. It was simply because of the nature of her home world: As far as Erika was concerned, the outside world was cut off to them, and leaving the Institute was as pointless as trying to swim through the raging typhoon that surrounded Rokkenjima. "What are you planning to do?"
