At least this hallway wasn't like the one before it. And the presence of other people helped a great deal. As did the fact they'd yet to encounter any human bodies. Tolten knew full well that people died here. He thanked whatever god was watching over him these days that he at least had some exposure to this manner of thing. A year ago and he wouldn't have been able to handle this at all. He would have been weeping in his cell on his bed, unable to do a damned thing for himself without Gongora to hold his hand.

At least those days were over.

"Just here," Tolten agreed, checking the map and written directions once more. "And then it isn't too far to the upstairs kitchen... No one said anything about it being locked, either. I wonder if all the doors are unlocked...I'm afraid despite counting a master thief as my best friend, I've no skill at conquering locks or privacy traps."
