The further she walked from her room, the more on edge she felt, her insides twisting uncomfortably. She still hadn't run into any kind of monster and, strangely enough, it only made her all the more nervous. Come on, running into monsters? Leanne could deal with that, even if she didn't have any real way to defend herself. She was used to this, used to having to deal with gremlins, at the very least, from practically the moment she stepped out of the safety of a town.
But this uncertainty, walking down hallway after hallway and finding only other people, and monster corpses, was... It was horrible, she hated it! Not knowing was somehow worse than seeing the real thing in front of her.
If nothing else, at least she could take comfort in the fact that she was making some kind of progress in her plans to explore. And there was still a lot more ground to cover.
