The intercom's silence promised more than words ever could. Something was on its way.
The vampire was at a point where a strange kind of numbness was settling over him while the more rational aspects of his mind worked to sort out the last day's trials. He knew without needing to be told that if he immersed himself in the fury he felt over Sai's demise, it would paralyze him as effectively as the Coliseum's protective barriers. There was no outlet for it, no avenue in which to spend it productively. If he hunted... Aidou didn't know if he could stand it. Holding himself back when he had already been made so helpless. His victim would take the brunt of his anger if he wasn't careful, and that was why Aidou was pushing his hunger to the farthest corner of his mind.
Spending time on procuring blood... no, he didn't want to direct his efforts there. Neither was he burning with desire to return to the basement, though he would have to eventually. A different kind of blood had been shed down there--a wealth of blood--and the weight of that knowledge was still heavy on his shoulders.
He knew the first place he needed to go, though, and when he had made his preparations for the night, M58 was where he set his sights. The vampire didn't bother knocking, just opened the door to an empty room. Still no Sasuke.
What was he supposed to think about that? "Where are you?"
Not here. You might've known as much.
It was a waste of time lingering around an empty cell, and Aidou had had enough of wasting time. There was nothing to gain by staying in the area any longer.
