Zack hadn't even been able to meet the newest one, a redhead who arrived back to their room and promptly fell into bed. He didn't know what to make of that, since that was usually a sign of someone being on their way out rather than in. It wasn't something that Zack could worry about too much, though. At this point, he didn't even know if he should get too close to the people who he shared his room with, seeing how it seemed to have a revolving door built in.
It was a shame, too. Most of the people who had come through M57 had been perfectly nice, Phoenix included. Zack didn't know if it was him or just bad luck, but it wasn't something he had any control over.
Either way, he had a new, properly big sword as reward for what he'd gone through the night before, which meant that his promise to return Lightning's weapon wasn't one he had to kick himself for now. He did feel bad about how their conversation had gone, but if he'd gotten a second chance at it he wouldn't have handled it any differently. He was the sort of person who was going to own up to what he did.
With no announcement to react to and a roommate who was dead to the world for the moment, Zack didn't have to do much in the way of preparation. He ended up bringing one of his pillowcases along to store his flashlight and radio, tying the end around his arm while he carried a sword in each hand. He'd be able to readjust once he delivered the short sword, at least.
With that all taken care of, Zack let out a breath and then headed out of his room and down the hall.
