"I can't really stop you, can I?" He shrugged one shoulder to answer his own rhetorical question. He wasn't yet ready to argue that he was rather sure his bones had mended. He could simply show her later. He had to be realistic, anyway. Her journey to his room - and vice versa - was a relatively short journey, and neither had ever had a hint of being attacked. They were probably the safest hallways in the institute.

That was all he could really ask for.

Like Stefan, he wasn't very much able to provide Bella the feminine mind he was sure she craved, especially when there was no one like Alice or Angela. Even then, neither of them could provide a feeling of camaraderie to someone who was in love with a vampire (while being human. Alice had the former in spades.) "I'm glad, though. It's entertaining to see you becoming a social animal." And this grin was more of a plea for her not to hit him. He wouldn't have blamed her if she had.
