Phoenix did the same with his flashlight as he stopped in his tracks at Edgeworth's side, shining the beam of light from the left to the right in the effort to try to remember how he had found Niikura and Mike the first time. From what he could tell, it seemed like the distance of hall from his left and right both went down into endlessly dark corridors, not unlike it had when he had first arrived - however, if he remembered correctly, there hadn't been a flight of stairs directly in front of him before, and the hall to their left hadn't looked narrower when he had last cast his flashlight over it.
"To the right," Phoenix said quietly, with a good amount of confidence about the fact in his tone, no matter how shaken he felt on the inside. If Edgeworth wanted to discuss what was happening later, he had every right to - and Phoenix decided not to press (for once in his life), reserving his feelings for what had just transpired between the two of them for a more acceptable time. "If I'm right, Niikura should be against the opposite wall - that's where I found him last night. And he looks a lot like me," Phoenix continued, though his tone lacked enthusiasm and was rather lackluster in the face of how he was feeling internally, "that is, if I was blonde-haired and only a teenager."
