It wasn't like he could say no. And it wasn't like it would take him long either. He could do that for her? He could do that. But... what if going home meant seeing her on that hospital bed again? What if she ended up dead? Or worse?

"Um. Asuka... what's the last thing you remember? From Tokyo-3?"

He flinched again.
