Night 72: Basement, West Hall

[from here]

Aigis staggered into the hallway, vaguely aware that it was similar to the one they had gone down the night previous with Zero. If she had been able to focus, she might have even stopped to ask that they turn around and check, but instead she reached for her Evoker and placed it to her temple again.

She called on Athena, first for Sechs then for herself, and a healing light covered them both. While her powers were greatly reduced here, she could rid them of their immediate discomfort and sew up the deepest part of their wounds, if not all the way through. Aigis still felt some slight discomfort, but the shooting pain in her midriff had subsided into something manageable.

That taken care of, she leaned against a wall, gasping, then fell to her knees. She just needed a quick moment to breathe. That was all. Then they could be on their way.

Sechs chanced one last glance at the ballroom and its fallen occupant before he exited into the west hallway. Keeping close behind Aigis, Sechs clasped tightly onto his fractured hand, his jaw clenching from the spreading pain. It reminded him of the very first injury he experienced in the institute, when an attempt to kill his first roommate led to a badly sprained wrist. And just like back then, he was probably going to wake up with some sort of hand brace again in the morning... Sechs let out a frustrated grunt of pain. Damnit, out of all the nights for Landel to put a brainwashed warrior in the ballroom--!

The misplaced footsteps of his companion brought Sechs' attention off the ache in his hand. Before Sechs could say anything, he was paused by the sight of Aigis' summoning. The ghostly warrior made her second appearance that night, bestowing much-needed relief on Sechs' wound. It appeared that Aigis was being healed as well, but the moment Athena faded back into the darkness, Aigis staggered again before collapsing to the floor.

"Aigis--?" Sechs carefully approached the gynoid and crouched down close by her side. As helpful as Athena was, it was obvious that the price to summon her was steep. Sechs observed the remaining blood on her torso and frowned, it looked a lot worse than the injury he got on his hand. He wasn't sure how much Athena healed the wound either, but Sechs figured there could be more done to help his ally...

"You catch your breath there, alright?" he said, giving Aigis a gentle (or at least as gentle as he can manage) pat on the shoulder. "Lemme see if I can fix up what Athena left off..."

Turning his focus on his battered hand, Sechs removed his damaged glove and grabbed for his machete. Carefully, Sechs slid the blade beneath his sleeve and tore through the leathery material. Having had his jumpsuit altered to allow attacks like long-range punching when he was still in his Fizziroy body, Sechs began unweaving the sleeve, unwinding it all the way past his elbow until he used his machete once more to cut it into a single strip.

"Here..." Sechs took the make-shift gauze and wrapped it around Aigis' bleeding wound. The Replica's technique was a tad unsure and haphazard though, he had no experience in first-aid for organic wounds, but he knew that if something was leaking, it had to be covered. Right?

Once he got most of the wound covered and finished the black strip with a simple knot, Sechs backed off and appraised his handiwork. "Um, that should stop the bleeding... And uh, the pain too. I think..."
