Night 72: M41-M50 Hallway

Lloyd scowled when the doctor finished speaking to them and the intercom shut itself off. Don't get too cocky? Look who was talking! He didn't think they were a threat, but Lloyd was determined to prove him wrong.

Already dressed for the night in his clothes from home, Lloyd grabbed the last of his things and took off as soon as the lock on his door clicked open. Claude had never shown up, the food on his desk growing cold, so there wasn't any exchange of farewells. The other's absence worried him. Where was he? But with no clues to go on, there wasn't anything he could do except continue with his plans for the night.

Sword in one hand and flashlight in the other, Lloyd set off, making his way down the hall.

It was interesting, how no one even thought the Institute had a third floor until Skulduggery happened to come across the book that controlled the secret passage in the library. He had to wonder if there was a connection. Had the rebels that Castiel mentioned only thought it was worth mentioning to the patients when someone discovered it for themselves? Or were the rebels themselves just another red herring used by Landel?

Did Landel make a mistake when he chose to bring Skulduggery here?

It was difficult to discern from Landel's voice over the intercom alone. He sounded just angry enough to be genuinely rattled by the patients' progress; but then again, he'd proven himself a good actor by now. It was impossible to know for sure.

The moment the door unlocked, Skulduggery stepped out, suit on and various necessary articles in hand.
