Day 69: Female Showers
Korra had spent the majority of breakfast eating in quiet, despite her nurse's urgings to "make friends." She could do that later.
She had hardly managed to get in any bit of exploration before the night was over. Was that how it worked, here? The days dragged on but the nights flew by? What a pain in the neck. She was particularly not fond of being grouped with the "children" for the showers, and she wasn't so sure about bathing with everyone else.
Oh, well.
Not putting up a fuss, Korra took off the weird outfit they all had to wear and stepped under the hot shower. She smiled contentedly, closing her eyes and enjoying the heat. Once again, she tried moving the water with a flick of her fingers. Naturally, nothing happened.

In any case, it was time for minors to take showers, which Anise was happy to do. Getting rained on and tossed through underground chutes had left her feeling less than stellar. As usual, Anise was quick to go through her usual washing regimen, making sure to leave some time for meeting up with people after. She washed her body and hair, dried herself off, redressed, and was soon off to the Sun Room.

When she got to the showers, she would have been whistling. If, that was, she'd ever gotten the hang of it. She hung up her sweats, washed and rebraided her hair, and then took her clothes back down with the same precision. It didn't matter that no one was watching; it made her feel better, especially after another night wasted. Then, as the showers had emptied back out and she was done, she bounded back into the sun room.

How did that even happen? They’d found the cure for him, hadn’t they? Perhaps he didn’t eat it, or they used it wrong, or it was too late, or there was never a cure in the first place… There were a lot of possibilities. Rita was going to have to investigate if she wanted to find the answer.
For now, Rita was headed for the showers. It would give her a chance to clear her head and assess her injuries. The nurse appeared to be aware of the burns, as she gave Rita various bits of advice and warnings for caring for the injury as they walked to the showers. Finally, the mage was given some space to address and find an empty-looking section of the showering area.
Her leg looked about as bad as she thought it would. Any open sores from the previous night had closed, but there were burns and blisters running from the outer side of her shin up to her lower thigh. Careful not to let any soap touch the damaged skin, Rita washed her skin and hair, then spent a few minutes simply standing under the warm water, trying to let her mind relax a little.
She had to talk to Taura. That, and make some inquiries on the bulletin board. With those things decided, Rita returned to the locker area, where she dried herself off, dressed herself, and walked back to the Sun Room.

As she showered, Tsubaki couldn't quite get the Head Doctor's words out of her mind. Has there been any sign of the friends that you've lost over the past few days? He knew, of course he knew; from how he acted, he probably derived some kind of satisfaction from watching the chaos unfold. For Tsubaki, though, not seeing her friends' faces in the crowd just made her sick to her stomach to the point that the hot water did nothing to relieve the chill in her breast.
Things just seemed to keep getting worse and worse...
