Night 67: F-A Block Hallway
[from here]
The homunculus covered the ground to the main women's hall quickly, her flashlight in her hand but currently off. She could see well enough in the dark, and she had little desire to get caught in some conversation as she had had happen all too often in the dorm halls.
She checked the mental map she'd memorized - roughly - of the place. The Greenhouse was on the far side of the building...what would be the quickest route? God, she wished she knew which doors were accessible and which weren't.
Ah well. It was a mostly straight trip across the Institute....

Gods, this hall was exactly the same as the other dorm hallways... What kind of building was this? It was so meticulously planned, and so dull. Link was used to grand buildings, ornate facades.
Landel's Institute was nothing short of dreary.

Link picked up the pace as he turned into the women's block hallway. He wasn't certain of his destination, but he supposed he would start with the greenhouse.
He felt more comfortable, now that he was running with a sword in his hands. It wasn't the right shape, but it was a blade. Link didn't even consider the possibility of death. He was confident.

There was no one in the women's halls, but the walls seemed to all be in the right places. The corridors led off in straight lines, and the door to the main hallway was wide open. So whatever Landel had in mind, it wasn't affecting the dormitories, or it wasn't affecting her. Yet.

All right, the Greenhouse, the Greenhouse... Leanne thought she remembered where it was, though she'd only been it the one time, and during the daytime at that. It'd be all too easy to get lost if she wasn't careful.
Still, the hallways were empty enough for the moment. Hopefully, that'd last long enough for her to get where she needed to safely.

The Once-ler half-jogged, half-limped through the hall. Homestretch now; he was almost there....

There was not anybody here, just yet, and so she was left to wait.
Flora pressed her back against the wall of the hallway. The motion was not casual, but strategic. It would be harder to get the jump on her from behind if there was no behind to get to. She wasn't all that far from her room, but you couldn't be too careful, sometimes.
She shone her flashlight down either ends of the hallway at times, trying to catch anyone who might have been coming her way, but was otherwise still and silent.

Sonia was on her guard from the get-go. Tonight, she was ready to fight! She wasn't going to let anything stand in her way!
Once she'd finished scanning the hallway--with her flashlight, that is--she moved forward and looked around again, this time for a girl matching Flora's description. Being the only person in the immediate area besides her, her teammate wasn't hard to find.
She lowered her flashlight and switched it off when she was close enough to speak with her. "Are you Flora?" Sonia didn't like that she had no way of knowing for sure that this was Flora, but she had to remember: this wasn't Mobius. Still, there was no such thing as being too careful.

"Our mission is to clear the path to the greenhouse as best we can, so that others heading that way can get to the cure. There might be a trap in the greenhouse, so let's try to focus on getting there first." Kratos hadn't given her specific instructions, but he had told her to do something about the issue she'd raised with him earlier, which was to help people on their way to the cure tonight. She just hoped whatever Landel had planned didn't get in the way of that; it felt like wishful thinking, at this point.

"I can also listen to plants, so if there's a trap in the greenhouse, I might be able to pick up on it, but they all haven't been talking to me like they would normally, so we'll still have to keep on our guard." That point left her feeling especially uneasy. If they were scared, she'd be able to feel and hear that for herself, but when asked certain questions, Flora just received a very disconnected silence on the line. It wasn't something she was at all used to and was more than a little disconcerting, to say the least. The silence wasn't absolute, though, and while she wouldn't count on luck, it sure would be nice to have, tonight.

As the other girl went on to add that she could listen to plants, Sonia allowed a surprised expression to show on her face. Incredible! If they'd had someone like that on Mobius... 'Mind on what you're doing, Sonia.' "That's alright," she reassured her new teammate. The last thing she wanted was for Flora to feel like it was her responsibility to detect trouble before it found them.
The princess moved away from the wall and switched her flashlight back on. "Okay. Let's go."

It was hard enough focusing on herself and any out-of-place changes without trying to wrap her head around what Landel had meant by getting lost. She would do anything, anything at all just for one night of success and for them to find the cure! If it took her getting sick from the injection she'd received at dinner, so be it.
Tsubaki was willing to pay that price if it meant putting a halt to the monster experiments. The only problem was, would her best efforts be enough?
Please, please just one night...

The block was clear as Soma slowly made her way toward the main hall. She was quiet as she moved, eyes half-closed, brainwaves scanning the area for any sign of movement--but the only presences around her were human-shaped, and relatively few of them at that.
