Night 66: M-B Block Hallway
[From here.]
By now, Guy had become so used to waiting for Claude out here that he had a spot picked out on the wall where he always leaned. But he couldn't do so very casually these days. Some of his anxiety had been quelled now that he knew Lloyd would be able to take action if Claude started to change, but he still dreaded what it would mean if Claude didn't make his way out here in the next few minutes.
At this point, Guy didn't know what they were doing with their night. They'd tossed around the idea of looking by the river for some sort of plant that could help with the healing process, but Guy didn't know if either of his friends were up for such a long journey.
He would leave it up to their judgment, but none of that would matter if they didn't show up. While Claude was the more immediate concern since he was just down the hall, Guy realized that if Anise changed, he didn't have any back-up plan for her. She might just tear through the halls trying to hurt people, and he wouldn't even know.
He let out a sigh and shifted his weight. This waiting was enough to shave a few years off his life, but he tried to stay calm.

[Waiting for Claude.]

More often than not, Guy was waiting for him first. Claude felt bad, since he realized that for every moment it took for him to reach their meeting place, Guy was probably wondering if the worst had happened. At least he could put his mind at easy by offering a wave and a sheepish grin.
"Hey," he greeted, still sounding just as fatigued as last night despite his best efforts. "Sorry to keep you waiting." I'm not a monster, see? would probably have been kind of tactless, though, so he kept that to himself.
Although they'd managed to meet up without any mishap, that still didn't answer whether Anise was all right. Claude tried to fight the knot of anxiety tightening in his stomach. Even with the clues they'd been given, they didn't have that much to work with. Were they seriously going to have to resort to surgery?
"Luke and Anise are meeting up again, right?" he asked, mostly so he could try to put his mind at ease about that.

He smiled at Claude, trying to look past his friend's weary look and focus on the fact that both of them were here and in their right minds. He considered clapping Claude on the shoulder, but it was probably better if they just cut to the chase.
"I think they are, yeah. We're going to meet up with them, right? And then we can decide what we want to do next." Guy doubted anyone had come up with a better idea than searching around that river. He hoped the weather wouldn't be too bad, since the last thing a couple of sick patients needed to do was get stuck in the rain.

"Yeah," he said with a nod. Then, his expression grew a little sheepish. "Um, do you know where we're supposed to meet them?"
If he hoped to get any productive done, Claude knew he needed to be more on top of things, illness or no. He hoped Guy wouldn't think poorly of him.

"We'd better hurry," Guy said as he moved them toward the exit. He didn't want to walk so quickly that Claude would have a hard time keeping up, but he didn't want to dawdle either.
