Night 65: M51-M60 Hallway

Five. An interesting number to add to an interesting situation, and wasn't it interesting, wasn't it quaint, that it matched another number given? There was no humor for the thought; Albedo had intent and purpose, and there was no time for idle chatter-- Well, perhaps there was, but currently, he had to make sure a certain brother of his stayed inside his room tonight, and for that, he would--

The holster went around his waist, the hunting knives on either side of his hips. The two shotguns possessed, now cleaned and reloaded from dinner, were strapped loosely to his back over the military jacket with the top sheet from his bed. It wouldn't hold under heavy movement, but it allowed them to be grasped and pulled out quickly if necessary. Extra rounds were taken from the cardboard box and pocketed into the jacket. He viewed the rest of his weaponry with a detailed eye, and finally shrugged. This was enough to down a monster dressed in humanity's skin--or the reverse, if they had already turned.

The night wasn't off to the best start, but then that was hardly a shock considering Landel's sadistic streak. So five prisoners had reached the transformation stage, had they? Aidou filed that information away, but he knew there was only so much he, personally, could do about such a thing without uncovering who precisely was sick.

Well, he knew of one infected prisoner for sure, and she was set to meet him just as soon as they could reach the designated meeting point. Assuming Aigis was still in her right mind, at least.

But if she wasn't... if she had reached the point of transformation herself...

No use thinking about it until you see for sure, he told himself. If she didn't arrive to meet him, the likely assumption would be that she had changed within her cell block at sundown, he could always search for her there. Beasts weren't too picky about what they hunted and there were plenty of warm bodies to amuse oneself with where the prisoners slept.

Once preparations were complete, the vampire left without a look back.
