Day 64: Intercom, Dawn
The staff walked through the hallways with the faint tapping of rain against the Sun Room windows to keep them company. However, the Head Doctor's voice soon joined the water's steady chorus, his cheery words a stark contrast to the dreary chill outside.
"Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a restful night's sleep after such a busy trip to Doyleton yesterday. I know I did, and I didn't even leave the institute. So much paperwork to do, but so little time! Hahahah! Hahah. Hahh..."
His laughter petered off into an awkward cough.
"Anyway! Today is Sunday, which means patients may spend the first shift in either the Sun Room or the Chapel," he brightly informed everyone. "As usual, we'll be opening up our weekly suggestions box, for those who would like to give their input on how to make for a better experience here at Landel's Institute. While you're at it, please take a moment to vote for your favorite movie so we can show it later today. Enjoy your morning. Oh, and--"
His voice became quieter as he sounded a bit more concerned. "It seems some of you are still suffering from that bug going around. Any patients experiencing discomfort are encouraged to ask the staff for any medicine to help alleviate their symptoms. Thank you."
The intercom clicked off, leaving the nurses to continue collecting the patients for the day.
